BLANK FRAMES | autumn/winter 2012-13

Creating unlimited possibilities and ideas bounded by a limited four-sided form.

The fickle fashion world craves novelty leaves no room for age. How can one remain forever young? It seems that only in a portrait can one’s youth and beauty be frozen in time. BLANK FRAMES toys with the idea of a portrait frame and develops into a study of trigonometry and geometrical methods applied on garments; the relationship between fabric and the wearer. How many ways can a rectangular form fall on a human body? How can fashion details be constructed from geometrical forms?

Drapery approach and discarding standard drafting rules makes sets the foundation for the collection. Combined with soft jacquard knits, these garments lose the flat, rigid forms and takes on a new shape conforming to the wearer’s body.

“The limits of the possible can only be defined by going beyond them into the impossible.” -Arthur C. Clarke
